Illustrator has long relied on symbols as its primary method to automate the appearance of repeating objects inside one or more artboards. With Illustrator CC 2019 you can now supplant symbols for many purposes. Just select an object that you’ve duplicated across one or more artboards. Click the Start Global Edit button in the Properties panel, and Illustrator CC 2019 offers to change all of the duplicates automatically. It’s a huge time-saver, not to mention, a little bit magical.
