600 Cropping inline strokes with an opacity mask

- Hey, gang, this is Deke McClelland.…Welcome to Deke's Techniques.…Now last week, you may recall we were inspired…by this White Christmas poster art…to create this inline font style.…But rather than having the lines go all the way…to the ends of the letters, as they do in this case,…not in the case of White Christmas, we are, in this movie,…going to lop off those ends with the help…of an opacity mask inside of Illustrator…to create this effect here.…But just so you don't feel like you're lookin'…at the same art all the time, I went ahead…and altered the color scheme, 'cause I'm a sweetheart.…

Here, let me show you exactly how it works.…So here we are looking at those mask inline strokes,…and just to make sure things are as obvious as possible,…I've created this highlights layer,…which is surrounding each one of those masked end points.…Now, for the best results, we want that spacing…all the way around those inline strokes to be uniform.…That is to say, for example, where the P is concerned,…up here at the top of the P,…
