518 Casting 3D font shadows in Illustrator

- Hey gang, this is Deke McClelland,…welcome to Deke's Techniques.…This week we're gonna take another chromatic style font…and we learned what that means last week.…In this case we're looking at a font called Zebrawood,…which has a certain orthogonal 3D feel to it.…And because those letters are just jutting outward…they're begging for some cast shadows…coming both off the letters…and off the blocks in the background.…And we're gonna be creating these cast shadows…using dynamic effects inside Illustrator.…Here, let me show you exactly how it works.…

Alright, so here we are inside Adobe Illustrator…looking at these numbers and letters casting these shadows.…We're gonna start off inside of this file.…And incidentally, all this type…has been converted to outlines.…It's based on a font called Zebrawood,…which includes both the regular style…that we're seeing in black,…along with a fill style that we're seeing…in the various colors.…What we need to do is select all the colored fills…and all these letters are grouped together,…
