382 Drawing flowering vectors in Illustrator

- Hey gang, this is Deke McClelland.…Welcome to Deke's Techniques.…This week, I come to you in this pale beige t-shirt,…which I might add looks terrible on me,…for the simple reason that I don't want to compete…with today's project,…this colorful pattern of flowering vectors…that we're about to create entirely from scratch…based on a single circle inside of Adobe Illustrator.…See? Thanks to my t-shirt, I've been rendered invisible.…All right, here's the final flower effect,…just so you can see it on screen.…We're gonna be creating it from scratch,…here inside Adobe Illustrator,…so, go up to the File menu and choose the New command,…or you can press Control N, or Command N on the Mac.…

We want to create an RGB document, so go ahead and…change the profile to Basic RGB right there,…and notice that my units are set to points.…I'm gonna dial in a width value of 13 in, that is 13 inches,…and then as soon as I press the Tab key,…notice that Illustrator automatically converts…from inches to points,…and then I'll dial in a height value of nine inches,…
