Join Deke McClelland for an in-depth discussion in this video 353 Extracting that same painting nondestructively, part of Deke's Techniques.
- In this movie, I'll show you another way…to extract a classic piece of public domain artwork…from it's frame, but this time instead of using…the perspective crop tool as we did in the previous movie,…we're going to apply a dynamic transformation.…And so that way we can keep our smart object…and modify our camera raw settings any time we like.…So the advantage is it's a more flexible approach.…The disadvantage is we're going to end up…with a much larger file.…It's going to be 380 megs on disk,…so it's going to be super huge.…
Here's what we do.…We're going to start off with the smart…object version of that painting.…So this is the camera raw smart object…over here in the layers panel,…which means I can go ahead and double click…on its thumbnail in order to open camera raw…and make whatever modifications I like.…Now, in my case though, I'm happy with what I have…so I'm just going to cancel out of here.…Just demonstrating that that is an option for you.…Now let's say that we want to keep that degree…of flexibility, we want to be able to come back…
