- So, how did you get on with the drawing challenge? Well, let's have a look at how I might have approached this. So, what I did was, I actually created a pencil outline of the shape that I wanted to work with, like I said, it's a rock, so it could have been, kind of, anything, really. And then, I switched to the smudge brush and using quite a dark color, I made my way through and filled that out and then switched to a lighter gray and then, a lighter gray, still. And then, at that particular point, what I did was, I switched the opacity of the brush down, to about half of what it was originally. I think it was 100 to start with and so I brought that down to about 50. And then, with the first of the middle grays, I kind of, went over that a little bit more just to blend the two slightly more successfully. And then, I repeated that with the lighter gray. At that point, I dropped the opacity down still further to make a really, really soft blend and then from there, I kind of, started…
