Before you edit your video, you will need to get it from your camcorder to your computer. Premiere Elements includes an easy-to-use Video Importer for getting the media from your camcorder, smartphone or other recording device.

The media you use in your project…must be on your computer's hard drive.…I've seen people plug a camcorder into their computer…then import the video without taking if off the…camcorder into their project.…When they disconnect the camcorder they lose…the link to the media.…The media files, the video files, your audio files…
