(piano music) - Hello and welcome. I'm Jan Kabili, your instructor for Photoshop CS4 Selections In Depth. In this course, I'll be teaching you how to make, modify and use selections. You'll learn all the manual and automatic selection methods that Photoshop has to offer. As you move through the course, keep in mind a couple of points about making selections. First, before you use the selection tool, take a minute to evaluate the image so that you choose the best tool for the job.

If you want to select objects of the same color, you might try the Color Range command. Or, if you want to select a subject that has a well-defined edge, try the Quick Selection Tool. You don't have to stick with just one method to make a good selection. You might make an initial rough selection using one method, and then clean up that selection using another method. This course focuses on selections. But from time to time, I'll talk about other features as they come up. If you want to learn more about those features please watch my course called, Photoshop CS4 Essential Training.

Now, let's get started with Photoshop CS4 Selections In Depth.
