Photoshop CS4 One-on-One: Advanced
Photoshop is one of the world's most powerful image editors, and it can be daunting to try to use skillfully. Photoshop CS4 One-on-One: Advanced, the second part of the popular and comprehensive series, follows internationally renowned Photoshop guru Deke McClelland as he dives into the workings of Photoshop. He explores such digital-age wonders as the Levels and Curves commands, edge-detection filters, advanced compositing techniques, vector-based text, the Liquify filter, and Camera Raw. Deke also teaches tried-and-true methods for sharpening details, smoothing over wrinkles and imperfections, and enhancing colors without harming the original image. Welcome to Photoshop CS4 One-on-One Advanced
Hi! I'm Deke McClelland. Welcome to Photoshop CS4 One-on-One, my cradle to grave everything you need to know series on Adobe Photoshop. (Music playing.) As the name One-on-One implies, I walk you through Photoshop as if I were teaching it to you in a classroom or a corporate consulting environment. Except that instead of getting lost in a crowd of students, you receive my individualized attention. It's just you and me, One-on-One.
If you watch the Fundamentals part of this series, you know that I'm breaking Photoshop CS4 One-on-One into three parts. In this, Part II Advanced, we'll take on Photoshop's more challenging but also much more powerful features. These are the ones that will enhance the quality of your work and give you a leg up in an increasingly competitive world. We'll start with the Levels and Curves commands which let you correct the brightness of every shadow, highlight and midtone in your image. Then I'll show you how to sharpen the details in your photographs, so that they figuratively leap off the page.
We'll also look at editable non- destructive adjustment layers, the amazing image bending liquefy filter and a vast power of Camera RAW. And don't be thinking we'll be skimming the surface. We're diving deep, more than 200 movies deep. I'm not joking. You are looking for value? You are looking at value. If it'll make you a more capable Photoshop user, it's in this series. Welcome to Photoshop CS4 One-on-One Advanced.
