Photoshop CS3 Extended: Research Methods and Workflows
Video duration: 0s 1h 21m Advanced

In Photoshop CS3 Extended Projects: Research Methods and Workflows, veteran research scientist and Adobe Biomedical Image Advisory Group member Eric J. Wexler shows how to use Photoshop CS3 for detailed research and presentations with hands-on examples. Eric evaluates gel images, penetration model samples, autoradiographs, and measurement recording and workflows, he also demonstrates how to create and apply a standard curve. Exercise files accompany the course.

Topics include:
  • Conducting gel analysis
  • Comparing analysis of bands
  • Determining an affected area
  • Outputting data
  • Understanding a penetration model
  • Combining images from different acquisition systems
  • Recording measurements from samples
  • Creating and applying a standard curve
  • Determining experimental activity

- [Voiceover] Hi, I'm Eric Wexler, and thank you for coming to this title to learn about how Photoshop CS3 Extended can be applied to actual research. In these few examples, we'll go over applying Photoshop for gel analysis, how we can use Photoshop to analyze a stroke model, and a much more in-depth example of using Photoshop in analyzing a compound's penetrative ability into atherosclerotic plaque. We're gonna learn how to overlay images, how to make measurements, and even how to create a standard curve using Photoshop as well as Microsoft Excel.
