Learn how to use the Photos for OS X app to fix exposure and color problems, create dramatic black-and-white images, and more.
- Hi, my name is Rich Harrington and today, we're going to be exploring Photos for OS X. This is the native software application that is included with OS X Yosemite and later. It was the replacement for both iPhoto and Aperture. And today, my goal is to help you, whether you are brand new or you're coming from one of those other two applications, to learn how to get the most out of Photos for OS X. It's a surprisingly powerful application that's easy to use, but many of its features are a bit hidden and need to be unlocked. So, we're gonna walk you through all of the essential adjustments that you'll need when working with Photos.
My goal here is to go beyond some of the things you might have learned in the essential training series available here on lynda.com. This is an accelerated look that goes deep into the features that will be used to enhance your images. As such, we're gonna take photos from four real world projects. Some vacations and some business trips that I've had, and I'll show you a wide range of adjustments. We're gonna work with images that are both raw, JPEG, shot on professional cameras as well as shot on an iPhone. And I'll try to help you understand how each adjustment can be used to get the best looking image.
With all this in mind, let's explore a little bit more what you need to know in order to get the most out of this course.
