- How'd you do?…Hopefully, you got a good overall exposure,…while taking advantage of sharpening…and some details to really bring out the edges.…Definition's gonna come in handy to give you that…selective contrast and sharpening will help with the edges.…Of course, as you sharpen, any noise problems are gonna…become worse, so you really need to do a little bit of push…and shove and balance everything out.…Here's how I tackled it.…With the image open,…I immediately went to 100% magnification…and went into some of the darker areas.…
Now, making some adjustments here,…I took advantage of a basic auto-exposure…and put a little bit of contrast into the black,…but immediately rolled in the definition…to get nice, selective contrast.…Notice as we bring that over,…how the rocks particularly, really start to look good.…With that in mind, a little bit of…sharpening also comes in handy.…Take it up all the way…and increase the edges until it becomes artificial.…
In this case, it's way too strong…and you can even see a halo around the edges.…
