Join Richard Harrington for an in-depth discussion in this video Setting the working environment, part of Photos for OS X: Enhancing Images.
- In order to make the most effective adjustments…to your photos, it's a good idea to set…a proper working environment.…Now, I'm on set today recording a class for you…so there's a lot of extra light here…so you can properly see what we're doing…but I actually prefer to adjust my images…working in a lower-light environment…trying to block out any unnecessary sunlight…and make sure that the lighting is consistent.…I also like to avoid having any light…hitting the screen, if possible.…You can't always completely control your environment…but by getting consistent color in the room…and removing any distractions, it's a pretty good idea.…
Also, I recommend, if possible,…don't put your computer up against a brightly colored wall.…If you're making adjustments and your computer…is against a red wall,…you're gonna start to enhance and take that red…into account as you're making adjustments…with the sliders.…Same thing, work in a yellow room…and you're going to see that your images feel hot…initially, so you start cooling them down.…
