- A common adjustment that's needed…in photos is the black point.…This essentially remaps what's black in an image.…Remember, the black point sets the contrast in the image,…so if an image appears washed out…or really lacks a solid boost in the low end,…use the black point adjustment.…Continue to look at our previous image…that we adjusted, remember using our different sliders,…we were able to restore the brightness and contrast…as well as the shadows and highlights in this image.…But the blacks just seem a tad washed out.…
As I pull the black point over, you'll notice…that those get remapped and become more crisp.…In fact, this gives us a little more latitude…on the Exposure slider if needed.…Now be careful.…If you overdo the blacks, they'll become muddy.…So usually it's a small adjustment.…And like many adjustments, you'll make it in tandem.…Let's press the right arrow twice and go forward…to this image here of a building.…And I'd like to get things properly balanced.…This image is very under exposed.…
