- As you work with an image…and start to adjust it's saturation,…you might want to refine the contrast.…Now, not the contrast we saw before,…which was dealing with the lightness…or the darkness,…essentially the difference between…the lightest and darkest point.…Color contrast helps you refine…the difference between similar colors…by adjusting color contrast,…you can get better separation…between color values.…In this image we were working with,…the green in the trees…is starting to blend together.…As I drag that slider over…for Color Contrast,…notice how it really starts…to split that apart.…
Sometimes adding Color Contrast…can be effective,…but if you do that,…you might need to back off…the overall Saturation.…In this case,…the Contrast just better split the difference…and you see that the yellows begin…to illuminate,…while the greens are not as affected.…Rounding out the difference there…with the two adjustments…can be quite effective…to push the area.…Think of Contrast as being a bit more targeted.…On the other hand,…sometimes you'll actually back…
