The right way to rotate a polarizing filter

- A polarizing filter can be incredibly helpful to cut back on reflections and glare, for example, among other benefits, potentially in a photographic image. And, a polarizing filter functions, essentially, by rotating. So as you're getting set up with your shot, you would rotate the polarizing filter to find just the right angle for polarizing the light. But there's actually a right and a wrong way to rotate that polarizing filter. In this case, I'm using the filter with a magnetic adapter, making it very easy to attach to the lens, but the filter still screws on to that adapter. And of course, we would rotate what is essentially, clockwise, in order to screw that filter on either to the lens or to the adapter that I'm using. And so, I strongly recommend when you're rotating your polarizing filter, that you always rotate clockwise. In other words, always rotate in the direction that you would screw the filter on to the lens or on to a magnetic adapter. Not in the opposite direction…
