The camera as a card reader

- If you're anything like me, after capturing photos, you're eager to get those images onto your computer so that you've got a backup copy and you can start reviewing the photos. But what happens if you discover you don't have your card reader? Maybe you left the card reader at home and now you have no way to get the photos from your media card to your computer. But actually, you do, built right into your camera. Yes, the camera itself can serve as a card reader, and all that you actually need, in most cases, is a USB cable. You can simply connect the USB cable to the camera itself and then, in turn, connect the other end to the computer, make sure that your camera (click) is turned on. And now your camera is a card reader. You can download the images directly from the computer. The only caveat, the thing that I would caution you about, is that with a cable connected to your camera and connected to the computer, there is a certain degree of risk that you'll accidentally knock that…
