Why shoot with film?

- The other day, I stopped into B&H Photo in New York City to take a look at some accessories I was interested in, and I was a little bit surprised to see that there was still a film section. You could still buy film for film cameras. They had some cameras on display, in fact, and you could also find a variety of papers to print on in the wet darkroom. And it struck me as a little bit odd because it's such a digital world these days, and I appreciate all that digital capture provides. I can download my images from my media cards, put them onto hard drives, back them up, I can have multiple copies of my photos that are an exact match that I've got backup copies of backup copies. So why would a photographer want to use film for some or maybe even all of their photography? Well to be sure, there's simply an aesthetic preference. There is a different look to film photos as opposed to digital photos, for example with film, we have film grain. Whereas with digital, we just have noise, and…
