What about Lightroom 6 and perpetual licenses?

- What about if you are a Lightroom 6 owner or an earlier version? This is often referred to as boxed software or perpetual license. Now, there's a lot of confusion on what owning software actually means. You don't actually own the software. What you own is a license to use it. In the past, Adobe would issue these perpetual licenses. If you bought a version of Lightroom, you would be able to use that version of Lightroom for a certain period of time. Now, the time was not based on a calendar. Rather, it was based upon how long Adobe would continue to add new features and support.
