Programmed Auto mode, found in your Canon DSLR camera, automatically adjusts shutter speed and aperture, based on a built-in program. This is often a useful mode if you want to shoot snapshots or you're dealing with tough lighting. In this video, Richard Harrington discusses what Programmed Auto mode does.
- The Program Auto Exposure Mode…of your camera can automatically adjust shutter speed…and aperture based on a built-in program.…This is often a useful shooting mode…if you want to take snapshots or if you're dealing…with tough lighting, and you'd like the camera…to make some of the choices for you.…When shooting in Program Auto Exposure Mode,…the camera will determine both the shutter speed…and the aperture, however, you're free…to choose the auto-focus method,…the white balance, the ISO, and the file format.…Because of this, it's much more flexible…than the traditional Automatic Mode.…
Now, while the camera is calculating the exposure…using a program, you still have some additional choices.…With options like Flexible Program…and exposure compensation, you can actually alter…the camera's initial shutter speed and aperture choices.…For this reason, Program Mode is very useful to shoot,…particularly as you're getting more comfortable…with your camera's controls.…It gives you more control than the Fully Automatic Mode,…
