- When you shoot video, one of the most important decisions you have to make is point of view. Where do you put the camera and what do you show? When you shoot 360 video, things get more complicated because your point of view looks in all directions. You still need to make a decision about where you're going to put the camera because some things in that 360 field of view are going to be closer to you than others and so on and so forth but you don't know at any given time where someone's going to be looking. That means you tend to leave the camera stable. There are times though in a VR production where you want to move around, where you want the camera to flow from one place to another. If you were trying to explain an architectural space, it's very often easier sometimes if you can actually pass from one 360 room into another. The problem is how do you do that smoothly?
