- The writer Dorothy Parker once said, "I hate writing, I love having written." I feel exactly the same way about tripods. I hate carrying them, but I love having shots that aren't all blurry and smeared with camera shake because I didn't have a tripod with me. Weird thing is I have a couple of really nice tripods. I picked them out very carefully, I really like them, I love the tripods heads that I have on them. But carrying them around is just such a drag. And dragging them around is a little bit better but then you mess up the tripod, so most of the time I don't have one with me. Alright, not most of the time. If I go out shooting in low light I will take a tripod with me. But for regular every-day shooting, I just don't carry one. Partly because I'm lazy and I don't like carrying them around, and partly because if I have a tripod, it roots me in one place and I'm worried that it will make me, I'm worried it'll…
