Using the self-timer

- Your camera has a built-in self-timer. This could be a very useful feature for a couple of purposes. Maybe you're shooting under lower light situations and you want the camera to stabilize, not shaking from pressing the button. And even more commonly, maybe you want to end up in the photo. The self-timer is a great option because you could set a delay from when you push the shutter button to when it takes a photo. Typically this is going to be somewhere between a two to a 10 second delay. Sometimes you want it really quick so you're not wasting time. So you're standing next to the camera, you just push the shutter button and then you release it, and it captures the photo. That works great, but the longer delays are going to be perfect if you want to actually be in the shot yourself. Maybe it's a group photo or a family vacation.
