Using a Lensbaby

- A number of years ago I was introduced to the first Lensbaby lens, it was very interesting in that it's essentially just a flexible tube that can mount to your camera and has a lens element on the front. It produced some really interesting images, it's very similar to a view lens in that we're able to shift our sweet spot, a relatively small area of the frame will be in focus and we can choose exactly where within the frame we want that sweet spot to fall. Of course shooting with this lens was a little bit of a challenge, because we're stretching and squeezing in order to adjust our focus and then swiveling to find that sweet spot to position it just right in the frame and once you find the correct position, you've got to hold steady while you capture the image. Fortunately, since that time, Lensbaby has updated their lens offerings, they've got a wide variety of accessory lenses, I can actually add a magnifier or a close focus adapter to the front and now when I swivel the lens…
