- Many people don't realize that you actually can adjust the exposure for your photography on your smartphone. If you think about a big camera, we all know that you can make the image brighter or darker but with a smartphone, you may not realize that you can do it. Now to be fair, maybe you've played with a third party app before that allows you to take complete manual control over the camera but that's not what we're talking about. With the built-in apps on both Google and iOS phones, you can actually adjust the exposure, just to make it a little bit brighter or a little bit darker. Why would you need to do that? Well sometimes in the scene that you've set up, whatever you've built, or whatever you're taking a picture of, the camera just wants to make the image a little bit too bright or a little bit too dark, and this simple control allows you to adjust that.
