- I'm here now with my friend Stephen Kent, a musician. Stephen, you're holding a didgeridoo. A lot of people may not know what this is. This is basically a hollow log, right. - Yes, it's a hollow log from aboriginal Australian culture. - Hollowed out by termites. - Exactly, termites. - Stephen's going to be playing the didge for us later and we're going to shoot that, but we're going to start by taking some portraits of him. And to do that, I've take the flash off camera. So, I made that decision because coming in here trying to figure out how to shoot him, my first thought is, what's my key light going to be? And so I've decided that I want something off to the side, maybe a shadow-y look, and so we've got him here in this cool black limbo background. We're going to have a single key light on him. I now need to figure out just kind of the normal things I would ask myself if I'm shooting a portrait. First thing being, what kind of depth of field that I want. Very often in a portrait…
