Semi-abstraction
- In chapter two, we talked about that curious line that exists between abstraction and recognizable reality. On that line, you are taking the same compositional power that makes abstraction work, but you're using to make a strong image out of a subject. This exercise is going to be built on the last one. I want you to stay in your house, or some predefined area, it doesn't really matter where, and I want you to shoot images of recognizable things, but I want you to aim to have the least amount of recognizable detail that you can have on that thing and still have it be recognizable as that thing. These are going to take longer. See if you can get five to seven of them in an hour.
