Refining the image with effects
- Let's continue to process the image by using some effects. You might not use these on every project, but it's good to know that they exist. Inside of Flixel, you'll find the Effects tab. These will give you a series of photo effects as well as black-and-white effects, and some instant looks. Essentially here, you could just step through these. Using the Down Arrow key, you can get different processes. Many of these first photo effects simulate some of the looks made popular by tools like Instagram. There are also a series of black-and-white adjustments that you can make for strong contrast or sepia tones, as well as other looks for warming or cooling the shot. Lastly, you'll find faded options here that will reduce the overall color and give it a stylized look. And towards the bottom here, you'll find options for fading or popping color, as well as the ability to use the paintbrush to paint in color into some areas while making other areas black and white.
