Preparing to move
- Getting ready to move your photo library is a pretty big deal. Let's walk through some of the steps you need to consider so that everything goes smoothly. Let's start by taking a look at an existing Lightroom catalog. You can use your own, or the smaller one that I've given you for practice. Now, you'll launch Lightroom Classic CC and I'll do that while holding down the option or the alt key. This brings up the ability to select a catalog at launch. Now, I can choose a different catalog and it's going to be the one that I just downloaded. This'll give us some files to practice with. You should see it here in the sample catalog folder, and I've called it LR CC. What's next? With that selected, click open. Now if you're coming from an older version of Lightroom, it might need to upgrade that catalog.
