Lens controls and zoom functions

- Let's talk about some of the options…when it comes to controlling a lens or a zoom lens.…Different lenses will have different functions.…For example, in this case it's a simple prime lens…and the only option I really have is a focus ring.…And in this case it's an electronic focus ring…so it actually spins infinitely.…It's going to just send a signal to the camera…and it adjusts the lens.…Other lenses are a bit more physical.…In this case we have Sony's flagship 70-200mm lens…and what you'll see here are that some of the rings…actually have physical stops.…

Now the focus ring is electronic as well.…It just spins freely.…But you see there are other controls.…Now this blue ring here is an optional add-on…that I attached.…This is from a third party vendor…but it makes things a little more tactile…and I like it while shooting.…Let's talk about what's going on here.…In the case of this lens, once it's attached…you see a handful of features.…Now normally the foot here is where we would normally…attach this lens to a tripod…
