- In my photographic experience, whenever I look at the work of other photographers, particularly different cultures, where they came from very different backgrounds, it's very interesting for me to see what they see. Hi, I'm Steve Simon, The Passionate Photographer, and welcome to Photo Critique of the Week. And on this week's episode, I wanted to show you the work of Juan Carlos Ocana, who's a Cuban photographer, and I've been to Cuba many times, and it's very interesting to me to see the different perspectives, and it's interesting to see how a Cuban photographer sees Havana versus someone like myself who's an outsider. And interestingly, in the end, I often find that we kind of look at the same things, and we're kind of in agreement in terms of what we see. But I think using your knowledge and things that are personal to you is going to separate you from a lot of other photographers, as it does with Juan.
