Color correction and enhancement
- Before you send the file out, it may not be a bad idea to punch things up a bit, boosting the color and perhaps fixing the contrast. This can be easily done with Adjustment Layers. Make sure you've got the static image selected and then choose from the available Adjustments. I'm going to start by adding a Vibrance Adjustment, which makes it easy to pop the colors. You'll notice in this case, we can make the shot really quite rich. Now, chances are we'll need to come back to this Adjustment, but let's get that into the stack. Now, I'm going to add a Curves Adjustment and click the Auto button to do an Auto Curve. In this case, it did an adjustment based on contrasting color. To control that Auto, just option or alt click on the word Auto, and you'll see different choices. You could fix just the Monochromatic Contrast, force it to have a nice, clean black and white, or go in and do Per Channel Adjustments. Snapping the Midtones will push it even further.
