- Before you can migrate a catalog it's very important that you check the integrity of your data. It's possible that files are missing or offline, or that there's problems with other things under the hood. Lightroom offers a few different utilities to make sure that your data is going to migrate smoothly and to find or reconnect to any missing assets. Before you can migrate a catalog it's very important that you check the integrity of your data. For example, I notice up here under folders that we have some offline files. There's a question mark listed next to the folder in that it doesn't know where these particular images are. Well, I'd purposely knocked these offline and put them in another folder so that you can get the experience of having to reconnect files. What's important to note though is that you might not realize that you have offline files and that images have not been properly reconnected to their sources.
