- I've been talking a lot about aperture setting like everyone knows what I'm talking about and I'm not sure that everyone does. So, let's talk about it here for a second in more detail so everyone does know what I'm talking about. I'm going to look at a more traditional lens right here because I think visually it's easier to discuss aperture settings when you're actually looking at aperture settings. A lot of digital cameras now, you don't set it on the lens, you set it on the LCD screen or some other way. It all means the same in terms of Physics but this is a nice way to look at it, this is pretty right? This is that Voigtlander lens I was talking about earlier. So when I say a nice wide maximum aperture of like F2, right here on the aperture ring, you see that and that means that the lens lets the maximum amount of light in. Now, not only does it let the maximum amount of light in, that also narrows the depth of field.…
