Basic abstract photography

Basic abstract photography

- I'm here in North Texas on an overcast day and I have stumbled across what appears to be the location of a flea market. There's nothing going on today, so it's just all of these empty little stalls and buildings. And on the one hand, it's not much to look at. On the other hand, the buildings are painted these spectacularly bright, festive colors and so it's a really great thing to look at. This is not a location that I need to shoot for what it is. There's really nothing interesting about shooting an empty flea market as an empty flea market, so I've decided, or I've just been walking around shooting some stuff that are mostly turning out to be pretty abstract things and I realized we never talked about abstract shooting here at The Practicing Photographer, so we're going to do that right now. That's going to be my goal as I shoot here, I'm going for abstract and you may think, oh, abstract means incomprehensible…
