- We're here at Lake Wanaka, the iconic willow tree right behind me, waiting for sunset. What we're seeing right now is golden light filling the clouds, and that's the first color of sunset. Some people bypass that, and they wait for the pinks. They want that oranger pink, but you definitely recommend shooting the gold because you get blue sky with gold, that's complimentary. It's really, really nice. So, after I talk to you for a bit, I'm going to start shooting some of that gold. And hopefully, we're going to see that transition into orange and eventually pink. And we want to shoot through that entire experience. And at sunrise, the colors reverse. We'll see pink first, and then we'll see gold at the end. Now, I have a wide-angle lens on my camera, and, to me, this screams wide-angle. I've got this beautiful tree and a big sky with clouds. This is what I'm looking for at sunset, because if I don't have the clouds, I don't have the colors. The clouds are going to hold that color, and…
