- I want to thank you guys so much for joining me on this course of photographing an incredible icon, the willow tree and Lake Wanaka. It was such an intimate experience to photograph this tree throughout the day. We started at sunrise, the clouds didn't quite work out, but when the first light hit the tree it was incredible. I was able to use a long lens, and get something I really liked. The clouds rolled in, and we were able to do long exposures, with wonderful streaks, they're going to make really cool black and white images. And then it started to clear, and the infrared took over, and being able to take that tree and have it glow a brilliant white against a dark black sky background, so exciting, such a unique way to do landscape photography. And we finished with sunset. The clouds came, they went off, beautiful colors, it's just an amazing experience. The thing that I really got out of this, besides just having a great time, was that I love this iconic tree more now than ever…
