So far, we've taken a few minutes to talk a little bit about making that connection with our subjects. And in that context I discussed this whole idea that sometimes it's helpful to use a shorter focal length lens so you can keep things natural and conversational and close. Well, here I want to transition from that topic to another and that is working with the environment. And sometimes when you're including more in the environment, you'll use a shorter focal length lens, but you'll just step back. Or maybe you'll be just as close, but you'll use a wide-angle lens so that your view is much more expansive. And there's something interesting that happens. When we can include more elements in the frame, it can somehow reinforce or tell a different aspect of one person's story. So let's go ahead and turn off the lights and look at a few pictures.
