- Welcome back, I hope you had a great time exploring and scouting and trying to find a new perspective on either a shot that you like to take a lot from a location that you visit or from an iconic location. Here at Lake Matheson we started on a platform and there were people around us and you think, that's where I'm supposed to take the shot. And that's where almost everybody does. What we did is we started scouting by coming down the trail, we found this boot path that very few people have been on.
Eventually it turned swampy and what I was able to do was I was able to get the mountains, the reflection, from a perspective that I hadn't seen before. It was a little fun, I even did a little handholding which is rare because I couldn't get quite high enough. So I held my camera over my hand and used the tiltable LCD and was able to look up and see my composition. So, I'll tell ya, it was a lot of fun to get out and explore. So, no matter what iconic location you visit don't just settle for the same spot everybody shoots it from.
Do that then use your feet and find your own. I'm gonna go ahead and share my examples that I took here and I look forward to hopefully seeing yours one day, too.
