Some phones, especially those of Android variety accommodate removable flash storage, such as a micro SD card and that is pretty neat. Now, some folks think that, well, this is a great way to backup my photos and possibly my videos. You have all that content on the internal storage. You copy it right here. See look at this, you have the little micro SD, storage area here. Now the phone doesn't look like this normally. I've popped off the back and we're looking at the, sort of the internals so to speak.
So, you copy your stuff onto this micro SD card and all is good. Well, all is good in some situations. For instance, if you accidentally drop your phone into a hot tub and your phone went bzzz and even though you can't save it in a bag of rice, your pictures will be gone normally. But you could pop out this micro SD card, put it in your computer and if you had backed up your photos onto the SD card, you would in fact have saved some of the images.
So you'd be sad about your phone, but you'd be happy that you have salvaged some of your photos, so that's the good scenario. Now the bad scenario would be, if you're in New York and you left your phone on the seat of a cab and the cab drove off with your phone before you realized that it was gone. And now you have lost the entire device. So that means you've lost the internal storage, and you've lost the stuff that you backed up onto the micro SD card.
And in that case, this plan doesn't work so well. You need another plan. So I don't want to discourage you from backing up onto the micro SD card. I'm just saying that we also need a, a bigger solution so that you're protected from all scenarios, from all things that could go wrong with your phone
