- As you're packing your bag and getting ready to go to Cuba, thinking about the different things you're gonna photograph, cars or definitely something that you wanna have on your radar, I have a few things I suggest that you include in your bag. First thing and I'm surprised that half of people forget this, make sure you have a polarizer if you have one available. The reason why a polarizing filter is helpful is that cars are shiny objects. A lot of times, they're in bright sun. A polarizing filter will help you tame those reflections, and it also saturates the color a bit, very handy for car portraits and especially on a bright day. The other thing is cars are moving objects. They're gonna be coming and going very quickly. I'll tell you in the beginning, I wasn't really up to speed either. I go, "Oh, that's it" and the car would be gone before I got the shot. It's handy to have a zoom lens that has a little bit of reach. Then as you begin thinking about getting some car shots, maybe…
