Every shoot starts with a lot of pre-planning. A lot of preparation days in advance thinking about the assignment. Thinking about what we need to do for the assignment. Pulling in a team, pulling in a crew that's needed. In this case, we scouted the location. We had the athletes that were going to be working with. kind of idea of what it is we're looking for. We want to convey the power and the emotion of two soccer players. I start thinking about what it is that I want to convey in the image. How I'm going to present the image? How I'm going to light the image? Is it going to be natural light? Are we going to use studio lights? Am I going to be close? Am I going to be far or have a sketch book with me? Or start sketching ideas? And I start thinking in advance a lot about what's going to happen on that shoot day so that when that shoot day happens, it's really just a matter of now being creative and turning the crank on something that's already in place.
