- So you're getting started in real estate photography and you've got this chicken and egg conundrum here. You don't have a portfolio yet because you don't have any clients, but you can't get any clients because you don't have a portfolio. So you've got to break through that logjam somehow and get that first few critical photos going so you can get the ball in motion and get some momentum happening. And the first step would be, go around to open houses. Sunday morning, get in your car, drive around the neighborhood, and show up at the open houses. Now there's a real estate agent inside there waiting for people to talk to them. You're going to need a business card, so go get yourself a business card printed, and you're going to show up and be 100% honest with them. You're going to say, wait for a break, because they're there actually trying to sell a house, right, and you're not there to buy the house.
