- So you know for me the most fun there is is being out in the field with my camera, taking pictures. But I think the second-most fun part of the whole business is sending out the invoices, cashing the checks. So let's talk about that process because you've got to have that nailed down as well. I think the first question you've got to answer is, when do you want to be paid? An old boss of mine once told me, "Hey, money now is better than money later, "so get paid as soon as you can." And there's definitely an argument to be made for that, and a lot of real estate photographers will take payment right there at the time of the shoot. I think there's a pretty good argument to be made for that, for sure. Again, money now is better than money later, but I think there's a really good argument to be made for taking payment after the shoot, after you've delivered the goods.
