Using the viewfinder to frame the image
As we photograph our handmade items it's our responsibility to make choices, that are going to give our viewers the most compelling and meaningful captures that we can. By framing an image within the Viewfinder of our camera, we can draw the viewers attention to exactly what we want them to see. Of course we can crop our photos in image editing software after the fact, but it's really a good idea to get in the habit of framing your image just the way you want it while you're taking the shot. So that you have more to work with when you find that you need to crop it later on. And there can also be a lot going on just outside the Viewfinder, so before we press the shutter button, there are a couple of things we want to consider. As we use the Viewfinder to frame the image, we want to think about what shape our craft is. Is it 3 Dimensional? Is it flat? Is it round? In our example we have a flat, horizontal puzzle.
