- Normally when we visit a city, I like to chat with a local and get some inside information to share for people coming maybe for the first time. But I've been coming to Paris for the better part of 20 years now, this may be my sixth visit here. So I'm pretty comfortable with the city. So what I want to do instead is maybe have a chat just as if I were talking to a friend who is going to be visiting the city for the first time, and who also happened to be a photographer. First, it is impossible to see all of Paris in a week. It's a huge city. There's so much to do here. Winnow it down, try to choose your battles. Choose some things you want to do and do them well. Don't try to hit every spot you've ever heard of in Paris. It's just not going to work. There's so much to do here. Second, you're not the first person to discover this place.
