Street shooting

Street shooting
The first time you pop out of a subway to go street shooting in Hong Kong be prepared to be a little bit visually assaulted. There is just so much stuff in your frame and so many people and so much noise that it's going to be a little disconcerting. So it's best to just take a moment, grab a couple pictures, soak it in, and then what I would suggest is start out concentrating on details. There's always going to be busyness in Hong Kong. Things are very frenetic and people are moving around so those details can help keep you sane and help you work into the complexity of some of the other pictures that will follow. Also, I would suggest shooting in the early morning as the city is just waking up. That's a great time. The light is really interesting. People really could not care about you because they're going to work. They're going about their morning. Maybe they're a little bit half asleep. So it's a more docile time to shoot in the city. There's always going to be that clutter there…
