Experience travel with all your senses
From the course: The Traveling Photographer: Hong Kong
Experience travel with all your senses
Photographers are by definition visually oriented people. We experience the world through our eyes. Relying heavily on our sense of sight can heighten our sense of awareness in some ways, but it can dull us in others. So I like to occasionally close my eyes and immerse myself in the soundscape rather than just the visual landscape. If you take a moment to listen critically, you become much more aware of the other signals your brain is receiving and learn to experience your environment much more fully. (conversations and street noises) Hong Kong has something to offer for all of your senses, so make sure to consciously explore the city with more than just your eyes.
