Shoot: Walk the Brooklyn Bridge
- Completed in 1883, the Brooklyn Bridge connects Manhattan to Brooklyn, spanning the East River. It's a little over a mile long and is a National Historic Landmark, but it's also a fantastic way to spend an afternoon hanging out with your family, getting some exercise and taking photos. I suggest walking from the Brooklyn side for the view, Freedom Tower, Manhattan skyline, et cetera. There are over a 1/2 dozen subway stops within an easy walk of the Brooklyn side of the bridge, so your point of origin will determine the stop that is easiest for you to access it from. We arrived at the Clark Street station and walked from there. It was only about five minutes. To access the promenade of the Brooklyn Bridge from the Brooklyn side, look for the stairway near the intersection of Cadman Plaza East and Prospect Street. The bridge is about 6,000 feet long, a little over a mile, so figure 20 minutes to cross it at a normal pace, but you're gonna wanna take your time and hang out. If you…
