- Trafalgar Square is the heart of London. It commemorates the naval battle of Trafalgar against the French in 1805. Today, it's the site of protests, performances, street artists and lots of tourists. And as such, it's a great place to hang out with a camera in the afternoon, so that's exactly what we're going to do. Trafalgar Square is a fantastic place to spend an afternoon hanging out as a photographer. There's so much to do and see here. It is one of the world's iconic gathering places, and you totally get that vibe when you're here. Bring your family; they'll enjoy it too. Wonderful for people watching. There's great things to shoot. There's all kinds of British iconography. Right behind me is the National Gallery of Art. Seventeen stories above us is Admiral Horatio Nelson, from the Battle of Trafalgar, after which this place is named. He's guarded by the four lions of Britain. They are there to protect him. If you can climb up on top of them, it's supposed to be good luck. But…
